Best/Worst Amazon Makeup Purchases {Long Post}

Amazon can be a great place. Especially when it comes to losing money. Over the years, I have bought a crap-ton of stuff on Amazon, so I decided to do a retrospective on the all beauty items I've bought over the years, and sort them according to whether or not I thought they were worth. With items that I talk about on the blog frequently I won't go into detail. But for the notable ones, and ones I've never discussed before, I will. Much of these are "cult status" products, and some of them I don't feel earn that status.

The items I love(d) are:

WnW Trio Fair Trade Coffee
WnW Eyeshadow, Greed ($.98)
Revlon Lip Color, Fig Jam
Shiseido Bronzer, Oil Free in #01
Physician's Formula Eyeliner, bought for less than $5.00
Matto Fluffy Face Brush

The Balm Read My Lips in Smut (from 2013!) When I was in my last year of college, this was the only lipstick I owned. It was a shimmery metallic plum-mauve, and being obsessed with Romance Novels, I thought the name of this was everything. I used it all up, loved it, but would not necessarily repurchase anything like it nowadays. Looking back, it's so funny how frustrated I've been getting with The Balm's eyeshadow palettes. Back then, I thought I was buying from a small etsy-likekitsch brand, even though the lipstick was $13.00. So innocent.

Ziaja Goat's Milk (day and night cream) Okay, so this is a Polish drugstore with amazing products. I've used up the day cream in the past, and am using the night cream now. It has been so helpful with the dry and cold winter nights, and really reasonably priced, too.

L'Oreal in Amber Rush
The Balm Mary Lou Manizer (2016)

OG Nyx Cosmetics Blush in Taupe. Still using this when I am not up to using a cream contour. Still think it's pretty awesome.

Dr. G Daily Safe BB+ SPF

BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Palette: Yes, I did end up decluttering this palette. But as a brand, I do love BH Cosmetics, and I think being able to purchase their stuff on Amazon is a good option.

ILNP Nail Polish
Library of Flowers Hand Creme/Perfume
InnisFree no Sebum Powder
Cinema Secrets Brush Cleaner
Zoya Aurora Nail polish
NYC Sunny Bronzer
Missha Sun Milk (both waterproof and non-water proof versions)
L'Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base
Z-Palette Depotting Spatula

Lavanilla Deodorant: Do I expect this to replace antiperspirant? No. And it does need to be reapplied every so often. But I do bring this to work with my to freshen up, and I only wear this on weekends to cut down on the amount of time I spend wearing antiperspirant. This product was recommended by Livloveshermakeup.

Lavanilla Coconut Vanilla Rollerball Perfume
Anna Sui Fragrances
Palmer's Cocoa Butter

Now, let's get to the roasting.
Deals on Amazon Not Worth it:

Body Shop Vitamin E eye cream: I just don't think it suited my particular needs. I want something I can put on my eyelids, and this was not it.

Tony Moly Bunny Pocket Mist Sleek Spray: Don't buy this. Yes, it is adorable. But the mist does not travel.

Ruby Kisses Eyeshadow Primer
Georgie Beauty Eyeliner

Mizani Scalp Care Hair Shampoo: This burned! Head and Shoulders is so much better when it comes to scalp-care hair products!

It's Skin Baby Face Blusher in Lavender. Adorable. But does not show up on my skin, and I am pretty pale. Whatever.

LA Girl Concealer Trio: I will never buy color correcting products again. They are not for me.

Etude House Secret Beam Highlighter in Pink/White mix: Why?? Why??? This did nothing! It reminds me of the Hard  Candy Prism highlighter. Very chalky and not up my alley at all.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation: This was bought when I BRIEFLY watched Kathleen Lights. Too bad this was too dark for me. And too dewy.  I love the smell of it and wanted this to work so badly.

Maybelline Dream Wonder Touch Foundation in Porcelain Ivory: There was a period in time when I really wanted to figure out what foundation I could use, so I bought something I used to use in highschool. The applicator for this is silly, and it oxidized. What was I thinking???

*Freeman Avocado and Oatmeal Mud Mask- Now I like this product a lot. But, I have not bought this on Amazon because in-store, you can get this for a little more than $2.00. On Amazon, you can't buy just one- you have to buy a two-pack.

TooGoo(R) liquid liner
Gudetama Beauty Sponge

Xtava Foundation: THIS EFFING RIP OFF. NASTY FOUNDATION. UGH. This was purchased before Amazon was cleaning its reviews and screening sponsored content. This was before Fakespot. This was before I learned to be critical. So I am skimming Amazon and looking at this magical and highly rated product and I am like...wow. I should buy. NO. The fragrance is heavy and smelly, it is cakey and oily, and it was just awful.

Rosebud lip balm (from 2012!) I really don't know what possessed me to buy this. Out of all the lip balms that have been proven time and time again to work, I choose this no-name brand balm that hardly moisturizes.....amateur moves, really.

LA Girl Pro Coverage Liquid Foundation. Upon the recommendation of Tati from Glamlifeguru. More like Shamlifeguru, amirite? No really, Too dark and too dewy. Again, what was I thinking?

Eva NYC Dry Shampoo. $11 for a dry shampoo. I don't even remember it being notably good, just that it ran out really fast. There are better options, people.

Nest Midnight Fleur, travel sized. I used to love this scent in a roller ball, and then I lost it. A couple years later, I decided to buy this and BAM the scent was disgusting to me, which was a bummer.
